Adult Religious Education

Adult Religious Education

At 9:30 AM on Sunday mornings HVUUC has two Adult RE classes for you to choose from.  Both classes enjoy a wide variety of topics throughout the church year.  Classes are held in the Religious Education Zone (REZ), the building on the hill to the left of the sanctuary.

Adult RE I meets in the Meditation Hall in the REZ (upstairs).

Each week the class will watch a 30 minute lecture on a different subject followed by a group discussion. The current curriculum is the DVD lecture series Natural Law and Human Nature. This course traces the origins and consequences of the theory of natural law. Natural law is the idea that there is an objective moral order, grounded in essential humanity, that holds universal and permanent implications for the ways we should conduct ourselves as free and responsible human beings.

Adult RE II meets in the Emerson room in the REZ.  (Second room on your right)

Life Tapestry: Combining activities like journal writing, role plays, and group sharing, this program builds on the experiences of participants by weaving together key events, relationships, and feelings to create a bigger picture of their lives and their many life stages.  Sessions are based on listening and communication, values, dreams and realities, aging, intimacy, loss and grief, spirituality and simple gifts.
